Local standouts

This months box highlights some local standouts from their respective regions.

Finca Danny (a return from last year) moved up several places in the Huila Colombia Acevedo Cup. The coffee is sourced from CCS partner Fairfield Trading, which has a strict criteria of only selecting coffees above 86 points (amongst other strict criteria).

Cooperativa El Povenir in Guatemala released their Ayarza Wine Series Collection, a small selective set of coffees chosen from entries sent from 28 participating farms.

Acevedo Cup #11

The return of Jon Wilson Poveda from Finca Danny. This year they placed 11th in the Acevedo Cup, moving up 5 places from last year.

The coffee is a washed processed from varietal Castillo. Supplied to us by Collaborative Coffee Source with their on ground partner Fairfield Trading.

Ayarza Wine Series

A standout on our latest Guatemala focused cupping table, this natural process coffee is a first for us from this collection. The Ayarza Wine Collection series denotes coffees that the coop has chosen as being fruit forward in profile, a departure from the standard regional profile.

The coffee is a natural processed from varietals Caturra, Typica and Bourbon. Introduced and supplied to us by Onyx Coffee (this 2020 lot is already sold out).
